Goddess Radha, also revered as Shree Radha Rani, was born on Ashtami of Bhadrapada, as per the Hindu Panchang. This sacred day is known as Radha Ashtami. She is the divine embodiment of love, and Lord Krishna refers to her as his heart.
Radha is older than Krishna and is believed to be the incarnation of Goddess Lakshmi from Golok Dham. Krishna appeared on Earth 15 days before Radha Rani.
Radha Rani is known by many divine names such as Brijbhan Dulari, Barsane Wali, Vrindavan Swamini, and Raseshwari. Her presence represents unconditional love and divine connection with Krishna. Many scriptures claim that after Raasleela, she returned to her eternal abode – Golok.
In 2025, Radha Ashtami will be celebrated on Sunday, 31st August. It occurs exactly 15 days after Krishna Janmashtami (16 August 2025). The grandest celebrations are seen in Barsana and Vrindavan.
